How has parenthood impacted your body image?
Although I try to accept and love myself just how I am- from time to time I “miss” the way I used to look. It’s a struggle that I think many humans have because of how society portrays beauty.
What was your postpartum experience?
Wow! It was hard! I never expected the changes that came with having a baby. Thankfully breastfeeding came easy for me. But I felt lost in my new reality, no time for me, even to go to the bathroom, of course, with no help whatsoever. Time is helping me adjust and learn how to be a parent, a new you is born when a baby comes...trying to embrace this new me everyday.
What is your truth?
Be patient, everything passes, don’t be so hard on yourself, love yourself.
Why did you choose to participate in this movement and share your story?
We have such a high and unrealistic expectations of how humans should look to be beautiful. Love that your work helps us see and accept beautiful in every shape and color.
